I'm at 104 actual "pubbed books" read....however, I'm a voracious beta reader, and I'm pretty much topped my goal by reading more than 10 beta read books for critique partners. And since I'm on Winter Break, and there's still reading time to get some more pubbed books in!!!
My number one pick is The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. Words cannot adequately or eloquently do justice to this book. Emotions surrounding the whirlwind that is grief are so beautifully and accurately captured. I literally could not put it down, and I ended up reading late, late into the night.
Another favorite that comes in a close second is If I Stay by Gayle Forman. Another masterful book of love and loss and learning to live again. Cannot WAIT to read the sequel!!
While the best YA UF's for me was a tie between Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers & Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins.
At GotYA, we wanna know what was your favorite read or reads of 2010.

My favorite YA read was probably "If I Stay" or "Hunger Games." My favorite non-YA read was "Such a Pretty Face" by Cathy Lamb.
Can't wait for "Where She Went!"
I read the Hunger Games series this year too! It was awesome!!!
And yes, Where She Went....kinda wish there was a Sky is Everywhere sequel too!!!
I loved If I Stay and have The Sky is Everywhere on my short list for my next trip to the bookstore.
I'd definitely add Hunger Games to my list. I don't care if it was hyped and a huge deal. It rocked. I'd also add Paper Towns--my first John Green novel and ... swoon.
Hex Hall is in my TBR pile. I loved Firelight and The Eternal Ones.
My fav was the Luxe Trilogy by Anna Godberson. Wonderful!
Hmm, this year, I would say my fave reads were Beautiful by Amy Reed, Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers, The Absolute Value of -1 by Steve Brezenoff, and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. So many books--I'm sure I left a few of my faves off this list. :)
So hard to pick faves...I would say Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, The New Rules of High School and Paranoid Park by Blake Nelson, Linger by Maggie Stiefvater, and Stolen by Lucy Christopher....is that enough?? And I still can think of more...
If I Stay and The Sky is Everywhere are two books on my TBR list, def.
Just read The Dead and the Gone, Susan Beth Pfeffer's follow-up to Life As We Knew It narrated by Miranda in Pennsylvania. The second book covers the same event (asteroid hits the moon) but is told from the POV of a young Puerto Rican boy in NYC. The 3rd book "This World We Live In" brings them together.Excellent series!
I read The Mortal Instrument Series, and as it stands right now it is my all time favorite. I also really enjoyed Some Girls Are and I was blessed to have beta read a book that has probably become one of the BEST books I've ever read. I can't wait for this girl to get agented and for this book (the first in a series) to get published so I can brag about how AMAZING it is.
I really liked Heist Society by Ally Carter.
I can't wait to read The Sky is Everywhere!
Oooh, I LOVED The Sky is Everywhere--perfect combo of fabulous writing and killer voice! Plus, loved Revolution and Before I Fall.
Also--I had the good fortune to read a manuscript by Corrine Jackson called If I Lie--all I can say is, WOW. Amazing. If that one doesn't hit a bookstore someday, I will eat my Ridgeback.
:D
Deb, I think I love you. That's a huge compliment coming from you!
